The Ask

Established to amplify RR Donnelley’s capabilities in the tech and logistics sectors, ENRU Logistics aimed to develop a multifunctional hub in India. The Implementation

The engagement was structured around three Statements of Work (SOWs), each tailored to meet the distinct needs of ENRU Logistics:

  1. GCC BOT (Global Capability Center, Build-Operate-Transfer): Focused on long-term talent acquisition, this SOW aimed to establish a sustainable talent pipeline, ensuring continuous operational excellence.

  2. T&M (Time and Materials): This contract provided staffing solutions on a short-term basis, allowing ENRU to adjust quickly to immediate and fluctuating demands.
  3. Consulting Engagement: Senior management and tech leaders from ENRU provided consulting to thoroughly understand the company’s requirements and navigate the challenges of finding the right talent. This SOW ensured that the Indian teams were well-guided and that operations continued without interruption.

The Solution

Strategic Hiring: Recruited a diverse team of 10 individuals, blending expertise in engineering, management, and various support roles to foster a robust operational framework.

  • Operational Setup and Scaling: Established processes and systems to support and scale operations, integrating ENRU’s Indian hub seamlessly with its global strategy.
  • Continuous Improvement and Support: Implemented ongoing training and development programs to ensure the teams remain at the forefront of industry standards and innovations. The comprehensive integration of diverse business functions within ENRU India has not only streamlined operations but also enhanced customer satisfaction through improved service delivery. The ability to manage a mix of functions under multiple COEs (Centers of Excellence) has set ENRU Logistics apart in the competitive logistics and tech space, leading to sustained business growth and an expanded global footprint.

Milestones and Growth

  • Captive Center to Hybrid Model Transition: After two years, DCT successfully transitioned the op- erations to the newly created Abacus India entity, transferring all the recruited employees. Post-tran- sition, DCT continues to support Abacus on a hy- brid model, offering flexible burst capacities and additional support as needed. This included orga- nizing bootcamps and providing UI/UX support to maintain service quality and enhance the product development lifecycle.
  • Continued Partnership: The relationship with Abacus has evolved beyond a traditional GCC model. DCT now engages in diverse collaborative and support activities, enabling Abacus to flexibly manage workload peaks and continue innovating without the operational overhead of maintaining a full-scale continuous team.
